graffiti legend STASH, oddly enough, has never linked up with G-SHOCK. Thankfully, that’s no longer the case as the New York street artist and Casio imprint have joined forces for a collaborative take on the GA-100. The limited edition design not only comes with a black-on-black print of aerosol caps, but sees a bright blue splash motif throughout both the band and case. “The community embraced G-SHOCK way early on because of the style, the ruggedness,” said STASH with regards to the partnership. “They started in the early 80′s so they have a history and a legacy that has always resonated deeply with me.”G-Shock
1.Hold down the (A) button for about two seconds. [SET Hold] will appear, and then the time zone setting will flash. 2.Press (C) twice and the current setting ([12H] or [24H]) will flash on the display. 4.Press (A) to exit the setting screen. While 12-hour timekeeping is selected, indicators will appear on the display to indicate a.m. and p.m. times.
Locate each of the 5 watch buttons. In clock face position, they are located at 2 o’clock, 4 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 8 o’clock, and 10 o’clock. Push the button at 10 o`clock. This makes the second digits blink. Then push the button at 6 o`clock. Presto! The hour digits change from civilian time to military time, or vice versa. Press the button at 10 o`clock again to stop the second digits from blinking. If it is earlier than 1:00 pm, you won`t be able to tell the difference between the civilian and military format by looking at the digits. To know whether you are in military format, a "24" will be displayed. Somehow, my watch changed from civilian 12-hour time format to the 24-hour military format. Since the watch was little used, I put up with the inconvenience. It was an inconvenience because the only military time I really knew was 16:00 (4 o’clock). I remember 16:00 from my very brief experience with the military. This time signaled the end of the work day (the most important time of the day). When the formatting on my watch changed, I had to base all of my time-telling from 16:00. It sort of worked, but was becoming a pain. So I went to the fount of all information — the Internet — but I could not find the answer. Finally, I decided to dig out the easy-to-follow directions that came with the watch. I am sharing this wonderful piece of information with you just in case you`ve lost the instructions.
CASIO’s shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe’s dream of ‘creating a watch that never breaks’. Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as ‘the toughest watch of all time’. Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe’s mantra “never, never give up.” www.gshock.com .
